On Saturday May 28th, the Pearl River Fire Department was dispatched to an unusual Rescue at 68 Sickletown Road. 21-102 (Orangetown Police) notified 12-2 (Asst. Chief Spoelstra) that a horse was trapped within a stable at Van Houten Farms. When 12-2 arrived he found a horse that was on its side wedged between two other stables. Since the horse couldn't upright itself to exit the barn assistance was needed. As the Pearl River Fire Department arrived to assist, the Rockland Regional Technical Rescue Team was also requested. The horse owners provided comfort while Rescue Technicians and Pearl River Firefighters extricated the horse.
