Extrication (Hunt Drive)

On July 10th, the Pearl River Fire Department was requested to respond to a car into a tree. Orangetown PD confirmed that one individual was pinned. The vehicle was heavily damaged due to the force of the impact.  Fire and EMS units quickly extricated the victim.

 

Extrication (Ehrhardt Road)

On Saturday, July 16th at 01:19 hours the Pearl River Fire Department responded to an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) Car vs. Telephone Pole on Ehrardt Road in Pearl River. Orangetown Police confirmed that one individual was pinned and was required to be extricated. Due to the severity of the incident, a rapid extrication was performed. A vertical crush of the door was used to gain access to the nader pin, which allowed us to quickly remove the driver's side door. Paramedics remove the unconscious victim and transported him to Westchester Medical Center. 

Structure Fire (West Naurashaun Ave.)

On Monday, July 18th, at approximately 5:14 AM the Pearl River Fire Department was dispatched to a reported Structure Fire on West Naurashaun Ave. It was quickly confirmed by LT. Sullivan (12-5-2)to be a garage fire that was fully involved. Due to a large amount of fire, protecting exposures was a critical objective. The fire was extinguished by firefighters with minimal damage to adjacent buildings.

Rockland County Extrication Competition

On Saturday, July 23rd, The Pearl River Hook & Ladder Co. participated in the first annual Rockland County extrication field day. Our members employed new extrication equipment and practiced advanced techniques during the drill.
