Structure Fire

At approximately 16:40, the Pearl River Fire Department was dispatched for an electrical fire at 52 South Middletown Road. Orangetown Police confirmed a smoke condition and an active fire in one of the upstairs apartments. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Sampath established command of the incident and requested a Firefighter Search & Assist Team from Department 11 (Orangeburg FD) and an Engine with manpower from Department 8 (Nanuet FD). 12-Tower arrived shortly after Chief Sampath, the Tower crew conducted a quick primary search of the second floor and began “opening up” and knocking down the fire with the can. The 12-1750’s crew stretched a line to the fire floor and extinguished the main body of fire.  Crews from 12-1250 & 12-2000 assisted in overhaul. All units were back in service by 18:00 Hours.

Units Involved: 12-1, 12-2, 12-Tower, 12-1750, 12-2000, 12-1250, 8-1, 8-3, 8-1750, 11-1, 11-2, 11-3, 11-EQ, 44-5, 44-6, Orangetown Police, and the Orangetown Fire Inspector (Car 1). 

Vehicle Extrication

At 23:27, the Pearl River Fire Department was alerted to a rollover in the vicinity of 90 Pearce Parkway. Orangetown Police reported one car on it side with entrapment. The crew from 12-2000 provided stabilization of the vehicle and extricated the occupant with thought the windshield. The 12-1750 provided assistance with extra cribbing and manpower. The occupant was then assessed by Pearl River EMS. All units were back in quarters by Midnight. 

Structure Fire

At 5:25 A.M., the Pearl River Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a fire at the corner of Townline Road and Middletown Road. A nearby pedestrian reported a fire on the roof of the Gulf Station along Middletown Road. Upon Arrival 12-1 (Chief O’Brien) confirmed a small fire on the roof and requested a FAST from Nanuet FD. 12-Tower set up for roof operations, when on the roof the officer of the tower notified command that there was a small fire around a vent. The fire was extinguished and overhaul was conducted to make sure the fire didn’t extend into the building.

On Wednesday morning, the Nanuet Fire Department was summoned to 5 Fredric Street for a possible furnace fire. Upon arrival of Nanuet’s 8-1 (Chief Koester), he advised fire control of a working fire and requested 12-Tower to the scene. When on scene the Tower’s interior team went to work inside the house “opening up” for the engine. The outside team OV & Roof (Outside Vent and Roof Firefighter’s) provided roof ventilation. The main body of fire was under control within an hour. All units were back in service by 10:30 A.M.
